Old facilities
In general it could be said that, in order of importance, the main problems of such facilities would be the following: Risk of direct contacts: some components show terminals accessible under tension, some lampholders do not hide the metallic thread that is not always connected to the neutral as it would correspond, some boxes without covers contain insufficiently isolated splices, some sockets and keys of antiquated design effect show its accessible contacts and its metallic chassis when they lack their front cover.
Metal ducts: pipes and metal boxes, which if found to be electrically linked as prescribed by the old regulations (locknuts and nozzles) thereby providing an equipotential grounding principle, are in practice interrupted either by false contacts or worse, because of the corrosion accelerated sometimes by the repeated lack of consistency consisting of metal mortar with mortar containing lime, which added to the humidity of foundations or others result in walls with current. |
